I know this isn't the best angle but it's how my coaches filmed. This is the outing when I found out that I have gained about 2 mph since starting the program. My weight has gone from 164 up to 168 as well (I'm 5'10, 5'11'' ish).
I'm now a but surprised about my velocity gains, because when I watch this carefully, I notice that I really haven't even made much progress mechanically yet.

OfflineThanks Brent!
One other question: in my leg lift part of my delivery, I am still struggling to effectively get a good first move. When I move forward early and try to get a good first move, I feel really unbalanced and struggle with the timing of my delivery and my upper body can't catch up (conventional wisdom calls this "rushing"). Is this a power issue or is there a specific way to get a good first move that I am unsure about? What should I focus on in 3X Pitching to develop a good first move?

OfflineYes, that is a strength issue. Focus on getting stronger ;D. Sometimes it could mean that you started your first move early or started to fast. Of course there is no such thing as moving too early, but what I'm saying is it could've thrown yourself off balance because you didn't start with good balance?? Well let Brent figure this one out, but first things first, getting stronger, because it probably is the main issue ;)

OnlineIt is critical that you first complete the entire 3X Pitching Velocity program because it focuses mainly on 3X and converting this to hip to shoulder separation and external rotation. You have to program these main components into your new motor coordination before working on bettering the first move. This is why you feel rushed, unbalanced and out of sync.
This approach is the same as saying you need to learn how to handle the car at a high speed before you learn how to accelerate.

OfflineYeah, I was wondering about that, I really have no idea what my coaches are planning to do with me at this point. Realistically, this January I threw well enough to contend for the closer role. This is the first month since August that I've been up to my coaches' expectations, but they still haven't told me anything. Our first game is in only five days so I hope I find out soon. I think if I end up getting playing time, I will start out as a middle reliever and work my way into a better role from there. If I sit a lot, then I guess there's a good reason to try and keep up 3X as much as I can!
Is it possible to keep doing 3X as a relief pitcher?
