Brent:  I like your observation that the front foot should open in sync with extension of the back foot.  This is something that Evan is struggling with, and we will work on it with this goal in mind.  It seems like this is a very important aspect of timing during the delivery, and one that many young players on this site are having problems with.  Maybe its important enough to consider including the interval between front foot opening and rear foot drive into the profile measures you are compiling?    John

This is a good point. The problem is the elite pitchers extend the drive foot almost immediately after the front foot starts to open. The average time would be 1 frame for most of these pitchers. The young pitchers who do not have good foot sync should know that they need to shorten this time frame to happen immediately after the front foot opens.

Pitchers who have a big delay between the opening of the feet usually are not even driving the back foot into extension. It usually is extending because it is being pulled through because the front foot opened early and all the pitchers weight shifted forward to front foot strike before they had the opportunity to drive.
