Hey Brent,

I bought your 3x program a day ago, almost done reading it, looks great so far. Quick question though, could i get away with using a 4lbs. medicine ball? I am 6'5" 218lbs. with low body fat and a good strength base.

It is going to be a little tough. It may also put a little to much pressure in your shoulders. I would not recommend it. I have 2lb med balls in the Equipment section above that are a volleyball size, this is the perfect size.

well fortunately i haven't taken it out of the box yet. also, what is your take on yoga for pitching? i do yoga-x (p90x version of yoga) every now in then for flexibility but i heard somewhere about not being too flexible because of elastic energy or something.

I believe yoga helps athletes best with warm-up and post-game or post-workout cool downs but yes, be careful trying to enhance flexibility with yoga because you do not want to reduce the elasticity of the muscles.

Yes, yoga will definitely help, but I'm not sure about the p90x version of it. Well anyway, what we mean by when enhancing flexibility you do not want to reduce elasticity, it's like a rubber band. You have a long and thin one and a short and thick one. What's the difference? The long and thin one is very flexible, but has very little elasticity, and the short and thick one is the opposite. Obviously, which can shoot further? They can shoot about the same distance, because flexibility helps with the stretchiness and elasticity helps with snappiness. So in this case, enhancing flexibility while enhancing elasticity is like a long and thick rubber band. This is the one that can usually go the furthest. Sorry for the long explanation, but this is pretty much it ;) .
