OfflineHello. My name is Josh Brodersen a freshman college pitcher at St. Scholastica in Duluth. I've looked at and invested several programs with little result. I've used Tuff Cuff, and 90 mph club and saw strength gains but little velocity gains. I am excited to buy and get started in this program as I believe it will help me improve significantly. I will be submitting a video for analysis soon, as I am taking a new one as soon as we start our throwing program.
Thanks!
Josh

OfflineBrent,
Thank you for providing forums such as this. Its great to have this kind of resource available! I'm 6'0-6'1 179 lbs, and sit at around 80 mph, and have topped out at 84. I love the game and try to learn as much as I can to improve. I'm originally from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, where unfortunately baseball knowledge is slim and for the most part stuck in the conventional past (which I'm trying to change!). This has made it hard for me to keep proper mechanics because when I return home, I have had to be my own coach and trainer. As far as velocity goals I'd like to maximize my potential, I believe with hard work anything is possible and would like to see a consistent positive increase, regardless of the number, whether it be 4-5 mph or upwards of 10+ mph.
Thank you for your time!

OfflineI was just up in Duluth this last weekend and wondered how the baseball was up there. Im a city boy, Minneapolis, but go up there once a year for the wife and kid… We always talk about moving up there but with the longer, colder months, we always stop ourselves. You cant drive 10 minutes here (in the metro) and not see a baseball field. Up there Its quite the opposite!!
I can only imagine the lack of interest in baseball and personall training!! Good luck with this program.

OnlineI will have a lot more for you in your video analysis but it sounds like you have a lot of room to increase velocity. It also sounds like you are motivated to make this happen. You will need to eventually become determined to reach your goals but your current motivation will be easy to turn into determination.
Tell me about your current strength and conditioning program!

OfflineMoney, I see no problem with the baseball here in Duluth. The College I attend, St. Scholastica, and the high schools here are very well coached and have success, many of my teammates can attest to that. We've competed in the past 7 NCAA Regionals with schools from farther south such as UW-Whitewater so I believe the weather isn't prohibiting. But YES, where I'm from in Michigan its definitely quite the opposite! Thanks!
Brent, our current strength and conditioning program consists of a strong core regimen, paired with I.T.Y.W's for shoulder and back, series of med ball tosses, then we have squats paired with altitude drops. And several other lifts I cannot think of as its not in front of me, and we just got it. Of course this varies throughout the week, and includes sprints.

OnlineI recommend that any lifts from the Fusion system that are not in your school program you need to include in your workouts. Especially, the Olympic Lifts and plyos! The lifts and exercise that you have listed do not include any power lifts or movements. These are critical for increasing velocity along with the 3X velocity system which is the throwing program from the 3X Pitching Velocity program.
