I am a big advocate of protein supplementation. I highly recommend that those who are on the 3X Pitching Velocity program supplement their training with a good protein source. I recommend that they take a whey protein first thing in the morning and then within 1 hour after a workout. I then recommend that they take an amino acid complex before bed which is a casein protein. This will provide protein through their nights sleep before they take the whey protein when they wake in the morning. It is critical to have protein in your system while you are breaking down your system through training.
Within the past year I have been using the Pro Complex protein blend by Optimum. I have noticed a major difference in recovery and strength and size. The reason is that this is more than just whey. It uses a blend of proteins and amino acids to create the perfect protein supplement post workout and in the morning. I have now recommended my athletes to replace this Pro Complex for their whey supplement. Since doing this all of my athletes have also seen a big difference in recovery, strength and size.
