OfflineBrent,
Obviously, in this day and age, getting to the next level requires ballplayers to be more than ballplayers; they need to be elite athletes, and one important attribute is sprint speed. Do you have any specific sprinting technique information for ballplayers? I realize weightlifting is an important piece of the equation, and just getting out on the track or running bases is necessary, but I was curious if you had any data on actual running technique to help improve sprint speed?
Thanks,
Stu

OnlineHere is an article the Chad Englehart wrote back in 2008 called Sprint Mechanics and the 40 yard Dash. It is still a great article today! Chad is now with an NFL team mainly because he was making a big name for himself as a speed coach when we were working together.
Chad and I were trained by Kurt Hester who is the Director of Training for D1 Sports Training which is mainly owned by Payton Manning. He is also in the strength and conditioning hall of fame. He is an amazing speed coach. He is all about force production and contact time. He trains some of the best athletes in the world on how to improve their overall speed and he does it with weight training to promote more force production and with speed and agility drills to train the motor coordination which is focused around contact time. I hope this helps!

OnlineYes, the anaerobic conditioning in the Fusion System is designed to support the remodeling of muscle fibers to be more fast twitch type three which will produce both power and endurance. Z, posted up some good videos on why we should train this way here http://topvelocity.net/forum/t…..ry/page-2/.

OfflineIn a sense, you need power endurance (what Jeff Cavaliere calls it). This is the ability to produce power over and over again. Because baseball is an anaerobic sport, you need short powerful bursts of energy, and you need to be able to produce that power over and over again, because you can't just throw one pitch, and that's it. So you should have both anaerobic and aerobic conditioning. But as pitchers we need to be more anaerobically trained.
