OfflineHis exercises here are good for joint integrity and I would highly recommend them in a joint integrity program just like the one in the Fusion system but that is all these exercises are good for. My strength coach during my playing years Kurt Hester calls these type of programs glorified physical therapy. This means there isn't much to these type of programs when it comes to performance enhancement. These exercises will support performance enhancement but they do not enhancement performance. My point is Justin Verlander's velocity isn't the results of these simple exercises.

OfflineThey also have more videos of him doing a lot of the workouts included in the 3x half of lifting (med ball throws, squats yet no power cleans or deadlifts shown) after knowing all the workouts to create more velocity, i thought to myself earlier today "wow i cant believe after watching all these videos 4 months ago i never thought to include medicine ball stuff into my workout" also power cleaning i started doing that a lot more plus squat that's gone up from 230 max to 250 since i started this workout plan (im only 150 pounds doing this also).
im definately glad i signed up!
ive also noticed watching the world series all the people who do or don't use the "3x"

OfflineThe cleans are high performance lifts, so you do not find a lot of pitchers doing them because of the technique involved but once you get good at the technique, the performance gains are insane!
3X is a powerful component that pretty much every pitcher in the game uses to generate his power. Most young and low velocity pitchers have not implemented the component into their mechanics.
There is more to 3X pitching than just triple extension. I am glad you are working with the program. There is a lot to learn and train so keep us up to date on your progress.

OfflineThey do take alot of technique i learned that throughout my first couple times doing it, but ive noticed alot of muscle gain from doing them plus deadlifts. Not only did they increase in there own weight gain, they helped increase my vertical jump also other auxiliary lifts like leg curls etc.
Ive also noticed that too, the kids who are known to throw harder do certain things ive learned from your program then some of my slower throwing friends dont use it, i hope to soon be in the category of who have better velocity also.
Ill keep updates coming,we start "open gyms" tonight for workouts, is there anything i should be concentrating on while working? i got my coach to let me change our running plan to more of sprinting instead of wasteless miles after miles, also more med ball throws since he technically cant run it so our seniors are.
thanks!

OfflineIf you do not know your 1 rep max, first set your goals on the three lifts; power clean, squat, and bench press. Be realistic but challenge yourself. Then make sure you are logging your weight for each lift that gives you percentages in the Fusion System from the Ace Pitcher Handbook. The goal is each 8th week (max week) you always improve and move your weight up for your new max weight to apply to the next cycle. Does this make sense?

Offlineyes it does make sense, we do a sheet like this during my gym class(weight training) our teacher plugs the weights into a computer and every grading period he shows the percentage its gone up so I'm on the right track at least. Besides lifting do you have any recommendations for running? I've been doing the past few weeks of incline sprints for 30 second intervals on the treadmill with a break in between also doing a lot of jumping rope to get the fast twitch muscles better and i do sprints with a harness and someone attached to it minimum twice a week, i try to do it as much as possible.
