OfflineCoach, 10 mph in 15 min! That is awesome! It is a rare case but I believe it.
Once again I am glad to have your experience and insight on the forums. Please continue to help me build this cutting edge pitching community so we can transform the conventional wisdom of the game to something that will help youth pitchers avoid arm injury while reaching their velocity goals.

OfflineI'd say it was a once-in-a-lifetime case. His mom was pretty happy when I showed her the gun. Hey, I just saw the new Coaches Corner. Thanks for doing that. I feel better posting there than butting into your analyses – althought obviously that hasn't stopped me from doing it. I hope you can grow the site. There's great information here and you deserve the attention. Good luck with it.

OfflineJust a quick question. I have 3 boys all very young right now (6, 2 and 5 months) My six year old is just starting to take to the game and next year will probably start pitching. Assuming they take to the game I'd like to teach the proper way to pitch early on so they have the fundamentals as they grow. I'd like to keep it fun for them that's most important but at the same time teaching the proper technique.
What are some suggestions to teach proper throwing technique from an early age and as they grow older.
Thanks,
George

Offline:D i think it will be very hard to, also I think about 30% of pitchers are left handed, which is quite alot. Back to the actual discussion about 90 mph club, I think Paul Reddick has caught on and is putting weights into his program. He said that there are 6 essential things to build power, squat variations, deadlift variations, one legged lifts, pushups, pull ups and the farmers' walk (using kettlebells and walking for a long time). Which in a sense they are all quite what a good strength and conditioning program has, except maybe the farmers' walk. But Paul is still into breaking balls, I don't mind that and I agree what he was saying, that "there may be good curveball hitters, but no one can hit a good curveball." Just putting that out there for those who are looking for breaking balls that his program is probably the best for that.
Hey coach Robo,
How ya doin?
On your comment about slow and balanced crane position etc. these inexperienced non teacher coaches do not have enough experience to give these young players enough credit so consequently they all hold them back with all of their slow moving body movement nonsense and then all of the sudden their goes the arm at full tilt doing all of the throwing movement work, they have absolutely no idea of how to teach pitchers how to let their body's do the work instead of the arm.
