Pitching analysis is critical to reaching your velocity goals and becoming an elite pitcher. The problem is most well know pitching coaches charge expensive prices for a video pitching analysis. I have decided to offer this priceless services for FREE. Yes, I will give you your first video pitching analysis for FREE. If you are wondering why you need a pitching analysis then here are some reasons why you need to send me your video today.

Why you need a FREE Video Pitching Analysis TODAY

You can’t see what you are doing wrong in your delivery.

You do not have the education of explosive total body pitching mechanics.

You are not getting any better mechanically.

You do not have much time left in your career to make changes.

You do not have the money to pay for a professional pitching analysis like this.

Your mechanics maybe causing serious injury to your arm.

You may have 2-3mph or more in your body but your poor mechanics are holding you back.

You need a fresh new eye to look at your delivery.

You want to get better.

You want to learn what it takes to throw 90.

You need something to jump start your career!

You know this is exactly what you need and it is FREE!

I have put together hundreds of pitching analysis that has helped hundreds increase velocity, improve precision and efficiency and gain confidence. You can join this group today by sending me your link to your video for your FREE pitching analysis. View all pitching analysis here.

What you will get in a FREE Video Pitching Analysis

* First you need to shoot footage of yourself in a perspective that doesn’t distort your mechanics, an example would be a complete side view from first or third base, then you need to post the link to your video here or send it to me by going to the CONTACT US link above.

Your pitching delivery will be put next to footage of a pitcher with good mechanics that you can emulate to help you make the necessary adjustments.

I will then document a complete evaluation of your delivery and point out your weaknesses and strengths.

Last of all I will give you direction on how you can correct your issues through drills, exercises and lifts.

Why is this Pitching Analysis better than any other professional Pitching Analysis?

The answer to this question is simply. I do not coach using conventional wisdom. I have developed a revolutionary approach to pitching which is growing more popular everyday. I have several high schools, colleges and baseball academies using my 3X Pitching Velocity Program. To learn more about this program and my approach to pitching, select the 3X Pitching Velocity Program.

Why should you stay away from coaches who use conventional wisdom?

This is important because the game is very mechanical as you know and most baseball mechanics are occurring in the game at speeds that the human eye can not capture. This is why conventional wisdom plagues the game. Conventional wisdom is a broad public understanding of the game. The problem with it in baseball is that the understanding of the mechanics of the game have changed completely in the past 10-15 years due to digital science. The ability to use high speed cameras and motion capture to slow down the mechanics of the game opened our eyes to what was actually occurring. We then learned that the game was being taught incorrectly in many areas. Conventional wisdom still echoes threw the mouth of coaches who have not educated themselves on the new science of the game. Conventional wisdom will eventually evolve to the new science of the game but it will take some time for this evolution to occur. So during your career you must search for coaches who have educated themselves outside of conventional wisdom or you too will be taught inaccurate mechanics of the game, which can be determinantal to your career.

You may not get this opportunity again. Send in your Pitching Video TODAY!

You can search the web up and down for the answers to how to throw hard and you will find many different sites trying their best to answers this question but all you will get out of it is a lot of frustration. I am still shocked that I am the only source today that believes velocity comes from the stride phase of the delivery. Every site I have come across on the web tries to teach how to throw harder from the throwing phase of the delivery. If anyone can help me find another site out there that is coaching the stride phase to increase pitching velocity, please post the link here in the comments.

If you do not understand what I mean by the stride and throwing phase of the delivery, then let me tell you what I am talking about. Pitching mechanics can best be broken down into two phases. Yes, there are many different components or parts to pitching but it is easier to take a bigger perspective of pitching by dividing the entire delivery into two sections or phases.

The Stride Phase

The stride phase of the pitching delivery starts with the leg lift and ends with the landing of the lift leg or also described as front foot strike. This is the phase of the delivery where the arm is not active. The only responsibility of the arm is to get into the cocked position at front foot strike. The cocked position is when the arm is at shoulder height, behind the head, in line with the closed shoulders. If you notice in the animation of Chapman in the stride phase here his lower kinetic chain is involved in all of the activity. The 3X Pitching eBook goes into detail of what is occurring during this phase. This detail describes how power is generated through triple extension or 3X. You will find that very few pitching coaches will teach this phase of the delivery. Most velocity is first generated in this phase of the delivery. I recommend purchasing 3X Pitching to learn this secret to real velocity.

The Throwing Phase

This is the phase of the delivery, after front foot strike, when the arm is responsible for throwing the ball. Most pitching coaches only coach this phase of the delivery. This phase involves the rotation of the shoulders and the release of the pitch. This phase occurs only during the last few tenths of a second in the delivery. At this point power has already been generated in the lower kinetic chain and is now transferring to the upper kinetic chain into the ball. This power is transferred through triple flexion which is also described in detail in the 3X Pitching eBook that you can purchase at the bottom of the page here.

If you want to learn how to throw hard then you must learn how to use the stride phase of the pitching delivery to generate more power. The American Sports Medicine Institute (ASMI) has proven that all low velocity pitchers do not use the stride phase as effectively as high velocity pitchers. Here is an excerpt from the ASMI case study a Comparison of High Velocity and Low Velocity Pitch Deliveries which talks about this difference.

Another finding of interest is that early in the pitching motion, the two groups (High Velocity Group and a Low Velocity Group) were dissimilar in the timing of their movements, while their later movement timing was much more similar. This implies that early trunk and torso movements are more varied among pitchers than late arm movements. Read study here…

The study is suggesting that early trunk and torso movements, which is occurring during the stride phase, was more varied among the groups than during the late arm movements of the throwing phase. This means hard throwers spend more time in the stride phase than low velocity pitchers. This is the secret to throwing hard. If you want the secret to throwing even harder then it is called the Ace Pitcher Handbook. The Ace Pitcher Handbook holds the Fusion System which is a training program that trains power through triple extension. Triple extension is the reason hard throwers like Aroldis Chapman has a 7.5 foot stride length and his fast twitch muscle fiber is the reason he can move through that stride faster than pitchers with shorter strides than him. It is not enough to understand that triple extension is the key to building power in the stride phase, you must have a strength and conditioning program that can condition you to remodel more fast twitch muscle fiber so you can move through triple extension like the elite athletes/pitchers. If you are serious about gaining velocity then there is no better place than this site. So get started TODAY, because those other sites out there are not worth the time!

Separation is a major component to developing top velocity and longevity. Separation means having separation from your back hip to back shoulder. Notice the picture here of Felix Hernandez. His back hip is pointing towards home plate and his back shoulder is pointing towards second base. This creates torque in the core. You can see the stretching in his jersey around the stomach area. Having more torque in the core instead of the shoulder of the arm will lead to more velocity and a healthier arm.

The best way to achieve separation is with your hips. You must understand that there is a delay from your hips to shoulders. This means your hips start first and your shoulders hold and when your hips stop, your shoulders commit. Just like the picture above, you must see the component “Separation” as a split perspective. Your lower half and then your upper half. Your lower half works first, then your upper half follows. Most young pitchers do this in reverse. This will cause arm problems and poor velocity. This happens because if the upper half starts first then the lower half is left behind and has no opportunity to be used.

I recommend you take a picture of yourself during the point of “Separation” and cover up first the upper half of your body in the picture. You want to see your hips completely open to the target like the picture above. Then cover your lower body and you want to see your shoulders in line with the target like the picture above. If you do not see good separation then you need to work on getting your hips moving faster while delaying your shoulders until just before front foot strike.

Notice the picture here of Mariano Riviera. The greatest closer in the game. His hips have started his delivery and are driving towards the plate while his shoulders stay back. His arms are relaxed and waiting for his hips and legs to reach full stride, before the shoulders are ready to fire. The shoulders must fire after the back leg has triple extended and the back hip has completely committed to the target. This is the point of Separation.

This split perspective is essential to developing good separation. You must see this as a split second delay in your lower half to upper half and the hips leading the process. This is a challenge to learn and perform well but this component alone is what separates average pitching from above average pitching. Combining good “Separation” with a total body Olympic style strength and conditioning program, equals a Top level Pitcher.

It is almost December, so this is your last chance for athletic improvement before the season begins. For all those college pitchers and ball players getting ready for the 2009 season, don’t be that guy who walks into spring with the Thanksgiving, Christmas belly. I am not saying, “Do not eat this holiday” but I am saying, “Do not sit on your ass!” You may think Coaches have their lineup and starters set pre-season but the truth of the matter is, this can change if someone drags their, out of shape butt, into spring training.

What should you be doing now and into the Christmas break? You should be doing everything in your power to make yourself Bigger, Stronger, Faster. I am not talking body building here. I am talking athletic performance. As much as some pitchers and critics do not want to believe, pitchers are athletes. The best pitchers in the game, are some of the best athletes in the game.

So how do you get Bigger, Stronger, Faster? With a smart program and a hard working attitude! Remember these three words come together in a package deal. They do not role separately. I didn’t say, Bigger, Stronger or just Bigger. I said Bigger, Stronger, Faster. So every workout, every sprint, every lift should be performed within a routine that is built around these three words. I recommend the Ace Pitcher Handbook, which has the Fusion system, for a great training program that focuses on these three words. I would not use the Ace Pitcher Handbook if you are looking for a quick fix before the season. This Handbook is serious stuff. For you to see the results that I had using this program, you must follow it exactly. This is because if you want to throw 90mph or speed your recovery time or overcome an injury, this will not happen overnight or by just picking up a few tips. It will only happen, if you devote yourself to this life changing event of defeating mediocrecy and embracing an extraordinary career. Look at it like you are 600 pounds and you know you need to go on a diet to lose the weight. You will not lose the weight if you decide to just eat rice cakes instead of bunny bread. You will only lose the weight, if you make a complete transformation.

I know I sound like Dr. Phil and this all sounds very dramatic but what it comes down to is the perspective of the baseball pyramid of success. Your career is based on this pyramid. If you are in high school or college, you are about in the middle of the pyramid. So if this pyramid had five floors within it, like the picture abpve, you would be on the second or third floor. Every time you make it to the next floor or next level, there is less room. This means, there is less opportunity. So if you see your career in this perspective, everything I am saying here doesn’t seem so dramatic as much as it seems like a good kick in the ass.

So ask yourself, “Have I been doing what it takes to grow Bigger, Stronger, Faster?” and if not, “What must I do with these last few months to improve my athletic performance before I start the season?” Because once the season starts, your body will not have the opportunity to grow. It will only have the ability to maintain. This is why pitchers have different training programs in-season as opposed to the off-season.

Take it from someone who has been in your position many times. If you haven’t started yet, find yourself a trainer or program that can get you what you need to improve your athletic performance in these last few months. Because when the games begin, you do not want to find yourself wishing you would have worked harder and smarter, this off-season.

Definition of pulling: the act of pulling; applying force to move something toward or with you; “the pull up the hill had him breathing harder”

What definition best describes what a Major League Pitcher does on the mound?

Yes, it is correct to state that the definition of throwing is the more conventional answer but as someone who played professional baseball, when I was pitching my hardest, it felt more like a pull. The definition of pulling uses the word force and the illustration of breathing harder. This is my experience of power pitching. These two definitions best describe the difference between average velocity and top velocity. Look at one of my favorite pitchers Felix Hernandez and you will see it looks more like he is pulling than throwing as the definition states as throwing with the arm and wrist.

The key point of the “Pull Perspective” is the amount of weight you are pulling. The more the better. If you are pulling a lot of weight you will not be doing this with just the arm. Your body will need to recruit the core and legs to handle the bulk of the work load. Therefore your hips will need to drive towards the plate first, while holding the throwing arm back with the shoulder, until your core and legs have given you all they got. Then the back shoulder will fire through and release the ball. This picture of Greg Maddux illustrates holding the shoulder back while the hips drive to the target. This component is called “Separation.”

The best way to implement this “Pull Perspective” into your own delivery is by visualizing that you are not holding onto the ball but instead a towel or resistance tubing. You could actually do this. I have a few drills in the AcePitcher Handbook that perform this action. The towel or tubing is connected to a sled or a person standing towards second base. You can also visualize a harness around your hips with tubing secured towards second base. Now, perform your delivery following each of the AcePitcher Components.

In the picture of Felix Hernandez above and Tim Lincecum below this is where you want to finish the drill. This position is the point of the drill. By visualizing the pull you should find this position more naturally than if you where just throwing the ball like usual. If you notice his arm is way behind his head, back arched and hips under his belly with landing leg supporting all the weight. The upper body is flexed and ready to release the energy or power into the ball.

The reason for implementing the “Pull Perspective” is to prevent the arm from leading the body. If you find that your arm is drifting in front of your chest before your shoulders have committed to the plate then you are not recruiting your core and legs to handle the work load and generate Top Velocity. This is common in young pitchers. This is what most coaches call throwing with all your arm.

The “Pull Perspective” is actually what it states, it is only a perspective. A way of looking at the act of pitching differently. It is important that you look at pitching differently because conventional thinking continues to fail us as pitchers. This is why a microscopic amount of pitchers make it to Major League Baseball. So this perspective is my little gift to you.
