Thanks DJSSMS13!  We actually do have the connection balls and that is something we’ve worked on/stronger glove side.  [He’s been to Wolforth’s camp twice and is looking forward to going to one of Brent’s camps.  I think the philosophies work together well, but, to me, Brent’s 3x/lower half mechanics stuff is unmatched.]

I was comparing where he is in that pic with Chapman, and the glove side seems fairly similar (obviously video is better, as Brent would say. :) ).

He looks great Rob as always. Yes, video is best but I do not see any evidence that he is pulling his glove side. With what I see in the pics, he continues to look awesome. Keep it up!

That’s great! Brent has a great overview of mechanics, but I do not try and 3x though, Ron says it causes premature straightening of the back leg and doesn’t allow rotation around the front hip and can cause upper body disconnections. Maybe that is the case with jack. If you have video we could see exactly what is going on.

Davis, I respect Ron and what he has done with his pitchers but he has no clue what 3X Pitching is. He may talk of driving the back leg prematurely and the issues that come with it but this is so far from the principles of 3X Pitching it isn’t even in the same ball park.

3X Pitching is the total connection of the kinetic chain from ankle kick to wrist action. If you look at triple extension as strictly a position in the high velocity delivery then yes, it can occur prematurely and cause a disconnect but if you pelvic load prematurely then this will also cause a disconnect.

Timing is the glue to these high velocity pitching mechanics. Without the timing of triple extension or the pelvic load then it is all crap and a total distraction to your natural pitching delivery. Master the timing of either one of these approaches and then the real debate is which one has the edge. Trying to discredit 3X Pitching with a complete lack of understanding of the entire approach is insulting. You can continue to be Ron’s preacher here on the site but at least take some more time to learn the principles behind 3X Pitching.

Maybe I said that wrong, I follow 3x pitching and I am not discrediting it, don’t get me wrong it’s great. I follow both approaches equally, and I have tried them both and used them both in games. I have taken many ideas from both and have morphed it into one. And yes timing is the most important because it is a key component of connection.

I understand but you obviously have a better understanding of Ron’s approach than 3X and you also spend more time promoting his approach on this site. I am fine with the promotion of his program and or approach but could you do me a favor and learn 3X pitching a little better?
