Nicolas Johnson | Pitching Mechanics Video Analysis | TopVelocity Baseball Forum
Nicolas is pitching first year in junior college after elbow injury in high school. way too much batting for a pitcher, and wrong batting mechanics left him in pain and was forced to sit out for half of the season. luckily had had already accepted a full scholarship before he was sidelined.
in this video his is pitching and velocity is sitting at 87-89mph. he would like to be hitting 95mph of course. any tips would be helpful. even with his current velocity he is effective because he can also throw 4 off speed pitches for strikes when needed. his delivery is hard for a batter to pick up on his off speed pitches.
he works out constantly per the 3x pitching training, so no problem with muscle power. sprinting speed is also good. he is having a hard time “feeling” the right time to push off and get everything on time. when he pushes off hard and triple extends he can really turn it loose but he tend to miss high half the time. tips? suggestions?
