Walter Feeney’s Separation Throws, Stride Throws & Olympic Lifts
I will just be posting my separation, stride & Olympic Lifts here. I’d love some feedback so I can improve and make sure I’m doing everything right. I will be constantly posting videos here everyday if not, at least once a week via youtube links.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v…..j767xQQWH8 I did this with less weight just going for form on this one.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v…..qD-4UfZsrI This one I did with more weight.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v…..e=youtu.be A set from today’s workout

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v…..e=youtu.be Split Jerks

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v…..e=youtu.be Back Squat seem to be having the most trouble with these but I feel like I’m starting to become a little more mobile in my ankles. I actually fell when I went down for a second try but I think the flexion in my ankle is getting better day by day. If anyone would like to send me some links to some stretches that may help on top of the ones I’m already doing it would be appreciated. Does this squat count?

For the split jerk, you have to get your head through.  Look at this video starting at 14 seconds. See how he gets it through. However, if you’re thorasic spine (upper back) is really tight, then you can’t physically do it or you will compensate. To test this, see if you could do a squat with arms overhead like 3:14 in this video  If not, then watch the video and do what he says. Also, if that’s really tight (which I think by watching your videos it is), then try to do a behind the neck sotts press http://www.youtube.com/watch?v…..6ICdhCWhbA You go down like your doing a back squat with a snatch (wide) grip, and try to press the weight behind your head. Start with the bar!!! See if you could do it. If you could, do it at least 3x a week. Also, put up a video with you overhead squatting (just with the bar). That’s a great way to see where your problem areas are. For the back squat, you need really tight erectors. You collapse at the bottom position. This is a good vid to watch . Try to do some pause squats to work on the bottom position.

Check out Lu Xiajons positions or go on hookgrip facebook page. Great photos!!!

Pre-season baseball is starting within the next month so I probably will only be able to get to week three unfortunately in the 3x program before having to have to start the in-season. As far as future goals go though here they are.

Goals                                        Current

Broad Jump 9ft6inchs               8ft6inchs

vertical – 30inchs                        27inchs

60 yard – 7.4 seconds                  7.8 seconds

Bench Press – 235lbs                      195lbs

Power Clean – 215lbs                     180lbs

Back Sqaut – 265lbs                       220lbs

Med stride throws – 40mph                  36mph

Med seperation throws – 40mph           36mph

Stride throws baseball – 66mph             62mph  The stride throw numbers are a bit vague because I’m inconsistent with them.

Seperation throws baseball  – 76mph      72mph

From yesterdays workouts. Sorry for the bad view on one the videos all of the cages were being used. I was actually able to throw 70 on one of my separation throws which isn’t my best but it’s the best it’s been since I’ve been home since the camp. If you want to know what my top separation throw was refer to the goals part in the reply posted above. Smile

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v…..e=youtu.be I was able to go “ass to grass” today on this squat and the dorsal flexion in my ankle held out better. The stretching is starting to pay off I think! Does this squat count?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v…..pd-Gr35CFM Today’s split jerks I worked on getting my head out more I think it looks better.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v…..Ndew6QJhkQ I did all my sets of power cleans today but also did one rep with significantly more weight to see if I was doing things right. Am I 3xing?

Walt,

Jerks look good.

Squat you need to keep your core tight all the way down and up. You lost your back position in the bottom of your squat make sure you stay tight.

Clean – Butt is still going too fast and you need to keep bar closer to your body it should ride up your thighs and stay close as you triple extend. Your still throwing your head back you need to keep eyes forward.

Keep working hard.
