Being a closer is very fun. They don’t really require stamina which is why they only pitch for a short time, but being a closer puts a lot more pressur because you have to make sure to secure the win. You can definitely get recognition because usually closers have high velocity pitches, and obviously from the amount of pressure you have to take.

being a closer is my favorite part of pitching. In high school I was primarily used as a closer, and I prefer closing to starting. You can get in there, be the focus of attention, get that adrenaline going, throw as hard as you can for one inning. At the same time, closing is kind of a game in itself, because often times, if you give up even only a run, you blow a save. So basically it’s get three outs before anyone gets around the bases. Not to mention how big a rush it is to get a big K in the last inning.
