Transportation to the facility:

  • You have 3 options for transportation: rent a car, call Top Velocity to coordinate a ride or take an uber/lyft from the airport.
  • The TopVelocity Facility is 1 hour from the New Orleans International Airport. Give us a call if you need a ride from the airport. Uber and Lyft will transport passengers and usually costs between $75-$100.
  • The hotel is about 10-15 minutes from the facility and is located on the way from the airport.
  • Two other airports are within an hour of the facility.  You may want to check flights into Gulfport (GPT) and Baton Rouge (BTR) in addition to New Orleans (MSY).

Top Velocity Player Housing

While attending the camp or training you can coordinate housing with Top Velocity.  We have training packages that include lodging but must be reserved.  The camp does not include lodging and players typically stay at a hotel with their family.

We do have housing for up to 20 players in our group housing.  Availability is limited and sells out quickly.  If you are planning to stay for an extended period of time (over a month) we have lodging available in 2 separate locations that provide transportation to and from the training facility at scheduled times.

Frequently Asked Questions?

What do I bring to the camp?

Players should bring their glove and workout clothing.  Turf shoes are recommended for pitching evaluation.  Cleats may be worn but not necessary for the few pitches thrown.

If I am staying in the player housing will I need a car?

No.  It is not necessary to have a car.  Typically we have players that stay at each house who have cars that each player can ride with.  We also have transportation available daily to the facility with our coaches.

If the player flies into New Orleans what is the best way for him to get to the facility from the airport?

We can try to coordinate a ride if arrival time matches with another player.  Let us know the time and details of your arrival and we will coordinate with other arrivals if possible.  Otherwise, Uber and Lyft is your best option and cost around $75 from the airport 45 miles away from facility.

If I arrive early can I come to the facility?

Yes.  Make sure to confirm your arrival with Top Velocity. If you arrive before your scheduled camp and would like to train we can pair you up with a player to follow a workout.
What does a typical day of training consist of?

Most athletes train for 3-5 hours daily in the Top Velocity Program.  The players work on mobility, drills and lifting typically 5 days a week with 2 days of rest and mobility.  There is no schedule to follow and players workout on their own from 6am – 10pm daily.  It is advised to pair up with players training to create a consistent training group.

What do the players do for food?

All players are responsible for their own meal plan and cooking.  We have grocery stores around the facility and housing that players have access to.  Shopping is coordinated typically by the players staying to make grocery trips and at time meal prep together.  If a player needs a ride to the store all they have to do is ask and someone will be able to drive player to the store.

Should the players staying in TopV housing bring food?

The players can bring food but we do not recommend bringing more than 1 week of food items.  While we have multiple refrigerators at each home, but there is limited space.

Where do the players do laundry?

All player houses. Have laundry facilities on-site. We also have laundry facilities no-site at Top Velocity Training facility.

What do players do on their down time?

We expect that they sleep because training is so intense.  However, most of the players make friends quickly and hang out at the houses playing games.
