Angel L. Lugo , Owner of Extra Innings, and Cadets Baseball Academy
Coach Lugo currently serves as our lead pitching instructor at Extra Innings Wappinger. His expertise comes from 30+ years of playing and coaching experience at all levels including high school, travel, and professional baseball.
Coach Lugo has had the honor of being appointed Director of the North Atlantic region for USA Baseball rating and coaching talent from New York city to Upstate New York for a chance to join the National team. He is also certified in the 3X Top Velocity Pitching Program. He has partnered with the creators of this program to bring his own pitching program, Top Gun Velocity, to Extra Innings Wappinger. Coach Lugo is President of the travel organization Cadets Baseball Academy who we proudly host at our facility.
Coach Lugo’s coaching experience is backed up by his impressive playing resume. He was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in 1988 in the 22nd round of the amateur draft. Following this he spent 5 years in Minor League baseball playing for the Twins, the Marlins, and the Blue Jays.
